Power was known for swashbuckler roles, but he did other parts including The Razor's Edge, The Eddy Duchin Story, The Sun Also Rises and the fantastic Witness for the Prosecution ( I highly recommend this film).

He had love affairs with Judy Garland, Lana Turner, Gene Tierney, Mai Zetterling, and Anita Ekberg. He was a Marine in WW2, a pilot, who transported wounded men during the Battle of Iwo Jima and the Battle of Okinawa.

In All About Eve, when Bill is headed to Hollywood he teasingly asks Birdie (Thelma Ritter) "What do you want me to tell Tyrone Power?", she replies "Just give him my phone number, I'll tell him myself"

He died at the very young age of 44 from a heart attack.

I'm trying to find Nightmare Alley, which contains some of his best work, and his strongest attempt to break out of his matinee idol persona.

Tyrone Power Jr was the famous actor, but he didn't use the 'jr'. His posthumous son is Tyrone Power IV, but he calls himself Tyrone Power Jr. It's very confusing.....the whole family were named Tyrone Power, going all the way back to this Tyrone Power, who was an actor in the early 1800's:

He had the kind of classic good looks that transcend any age or era. He was considered hot then, most certainly would be today and probably 30 years from now, as well.

Weird, his son in the red sweater has features that look too big for his face. Or something. His face looks a bit off to me.
