Very pretty. But there have been cases of people dying from amoebas that infect their brains from lakes and other stagnant water.

^ I'd love it too. I've swum in lakes all my life, and nothing beats it. I've always loved the idea of something that looks like a pond but can be kept clean like a pool.

^That is a very neat concept. I don't swim in lakes but I'd definitely swim in this type of pool.
If given the choice, I'd definitely pick a nice, crystal blue pool though.

I used to swim in the river Thames every summer and lived to tell the tale.

I much prefer swimming in natural water...except for this one time I got some kind of algae growing in my sinuses. That was awful.

How does that work? My friend's husband wants to get a pool, he wanted to go with the concrete instead of a liner and was told that you can't have concrete with the salt systems. He doesn't want a liner and he doesn't want chlorine. I know there's at least one non-chlorine method of cleaning/treating a pool because that's what the previous owners here used.

Although it is beautiful and i would like one just for the beauty of it, I'd rather swim in a chlorine pool. When i was younger we always went pond and lake swimming, but the older i get the more i like swimming in clear water where i can see everything.

Happy trails to you...until we meet again.
I love & miss you Dad.

It sounds like the salesman may have been trying to pull a fast one on your husband.

We have a salt water pool and it's concrete. It's actually considered a salt-chlorinated pool and I prefer it over chlorine because you don't get the chlorine smell afterwards and it's better for your skin.

The other benefits are that you have virtually no irritation to your eyes and it's cheaper and easier to maintain. Here is some further info:

Oh it's not us, lol! The only time my hubby was happy with our pool was the day he took it down, lol. The place my friend went to, it's the only place close by in our area and most people treat them as a last resort for supplies.

I'll have to let them know about it. The only thing I could think of that could be a problem would be the salt eating away at the concrete or staining or something.

^^Everyone I know with a salt water pool has concrete, so I don't know what that guy was talking about. Salt water pools seem to be a very popular option these days. Out of everyone I know with a pool, I'm the only one that has a chlorinated pool. I may eventually convert it to salt water.

As far as that natural pool...hell to the no. That looks gross.

The insectoid infestation would freak me out too, imagine swimming and seeing a six inch spider on your face.
