the only thing i can think of is the amount of rats that are hiding in the foliage.

Let's just say that the legality of those land sales is quite doubtful. And the invasion was in 1974, hardly centuries ago. There has been some progress but the island is still divided and I don't see a resolution happening soon.

I've lived in Cyprus. I know refugees and children of refugees and victims of that conflict. I'm sorry, I can't just look at a gaudy villa supposedly in Cyprus and comment on the freaking decor.

My youngest,s Cypriot buddy lost a house twice as big than this one, plus the family business,i dont think 34 years its time enough to forget..
His folks still cant stand to go visit and see what they lost overnight..
It is still raw and hurting and i dont see it finishing nicely anytime soon.

The Turkish/Greek conflict in Cyprus is one of the world's great "forgotten" situations. It's obviously an ongoing problem to those involved and the centuries old antagonism between the two sides is still very real and raw. I wish I could see a solution.

Oh I know, I can remember hearing my grandpa discussing it with our Greek neighbors when I was a little girl. I remember Mr. G ranting about some family members losing land and businesses for years and years after that.

I also remember some kind of conflict happening in the early to mid 80s, but its not something I ever read up on. Hmmm, I'll have to fix that.

I love the outside, but the inside is very blah.
