It's weird because they carpet a lot of the bathroom areas in houses and apartment complexes here in California. Typically the toilet is in it's own little room and the sink and tub/shower are in another. The area with the sink and tub is carpeted. Weird.

My ILs have that thin carpet in their kitchen. Skeeves me out completely. Kitchen floors need to be scrubbed, not vacuumed.

I've been in more than one house that's had carpet in the kitchen. I don't get it. I spill on my kitchen floor almost daily.

It's gross. I scrub my wood floor on my hands and knees at least once/month. I cannot imagine 20+ years of kitchen carpet grime. If anything falls on that floor, I throw it out immediately.

We have carpet in our bathroom. The toilet is in another smaller room, so at least there one positive. I hate it. We are replacing the carpets soon and will put down tile in the bathroom. My parents house used to have carpet in the entire bathroom - toilet area too. While it was nice in the mornings when the house was still cold, I could NEVER get past the idea that at some point that toilet overflowed onto the carpet.

I'd totally LOVE Jayne's bath room without the carpet. Even with the heart-shaped tub.

I found this on Pinterest and thought it belonged here. It's supposed to be an example of artsy and innovative home decor, but I think it looks like a Barbie dreamhouse from 1992.

Another tacky decor thing I see all over Pinterest are the "family" signs with incorrect grammar. When are people going to learn that adding an apostrophe does not pluralize a word?

    My room, probably 1975

    1 - Beatles
2- My Sonny & Cher autograph
    3 - Geraldo Rivera (eyeroll)
    4- Bruce Springsteen poster
    5- School awards
6- Peacock feathers and pussy willows

I see the hammer on my jewelry box so I think I just hung the mirror. That mirror had all my concert ticket stubs stuck in the frame. Nice and tacky.

On the opposite wall was this poster of course.

Notice the color of the walls. I think I wanted them chartreuse, but they came out more pea green. The carpet was pink and white shag. After this look, Mom put up pretty pink, green and white pin striped wall paper and white shutters. Then I put my posters back. Thank goodness she allowed me self expression.
