Yup, that was the case at one of our homes as well. Nasty thin 70s carpet in a tiny bathroom, because...?

People in the 70's carpeted anything!

When I lived in Miami Beach (of all places) I was looking to buy a condo. One of the places I looked at was frightening. The entire house was carpeted. Every single floor, including indoor/outdoor carpet on the two patios and the kitchen. Each room was a different color shag carpet or sculptured carpet. A couple rooms had a carpet version of wainscoting Shag carpeting halfway up the wall. I each room, paired with the hideous carpet colors was this gorgeous (i kid) foil wallpaper. Even covering the ceiling. These people didn't want an inch of anything uncovered.

So the lid and the seat are carpeted? I have never seen a seat cover before. So nasty.

I remember those. They lingered into the seventies.

I remember the lid covers, but not the seat covers. I remember the foamy seats that were vinyl covered foam. We never had one but I knew people that did. They were always cracked.

We didn't have them but some people we visited did. I recall being really creeped out by the feeling.

Oh dear. They still manufacture them. http://www.made-in-china.com/showroo...na-Carpet.html

I wonder what the market is? I've never seen these in stores.

We had one in the 80s. I shudder to think what lurked in those fibers.
