    Quick update.
We've kind of had some (much needed) building work going on, so the redecorate hasn't happened yet.
However, MrN came home the other day & threatened to remove my much loved 6-gas burner, 2 oven stove & replace it with.... A bloody aga!
He was informed in no uncertain terms that if my stove goes, so do I.

And before you get all misty-eyed about having an aga, remember this.
You have to stoke it & clean it everyday (it was a solid fuel one), tracking dirty in & out of the kitchen, the is limited temperature control in the stove top & oven & even when it's really hot in summer you still have to lite it - not nec a bad thing since we haven't had a summer since 1977...

Why would he want to do away with it, just for easier cleaning? That thing is beautiful and will never ever die.

Hopefully you won that battle. Men can be such hopeless romantics, especially when they won't have to use it. You should point out that while you still have 2 ovens he would be easy to bake.

Hahaha! That's funny McJag! I wouldn't be able to make Yorkshire puddings with an aga, they just don't get hot enough!

He thought it was a "bargain" because it was £100. In the the extension (new bit) we'll have a multifuel stove (this kind of thing)

Which will heat the hot water & radiators when lit & will burn my rubbish (trash). We'll still have the old (oil) boiler for hot water in the summer.
Once we talked it through he was ok, he was teasing me about it tonight because I told the stove not to listen to him & coo'd at it & he was laughing himself silly!

I would never put an aga in a property but I might put up with it if it were in when I bought it. That said my stove (pictured up thread, the cream/yellow-thing) is actually made by aga..

Other way around, he thought that I might like an aga.

Maybe I should start a business refurbishing them & exporting them to the US?
