I know, it was the first thing I noticed when I starting working there 3 yrs ago. We, just though the skin of our teeth, managed last year to practically beg upper management to get us all new chairs, rather than the deflated chairs from the 70s we were sitting on, so a whole office revamp is unlikely. On the bright side, this ugly Christmas tree adds color to the office, no???? Lol...

I have some, too. Just this year they started getting limpy, so I doused them in spray startch, slapped them between cardboard with a book on top, next day they were all crispy again. I do love those.

To stop them from going limp, don't let them get exposed to humidity. Pack them away in an airtight container and you could even add some silica gel.

A friend made ours for us and gave them to us last year.

Our plan going forward is to give the boys a new ornament each every year, and eventually we'll probably get them mini-trees for their rooms - my brother and I always loved having our own little tree to decorate and our parents (Santa *cough) would sneak into our rooms and leave one wee present under it.

My son's mini tree has multicolored lights, a nice flashy gold star topper, and is filled with Star Wars ornaments, a spongebob ornament from when he was little, a couple of Grinch (and dog max) ornaments, and every ornament he ever made since starting school. But he'll need another next year since the cheap plastic base is now cracked.

I love my tree! It's covered in decades of collected baubles and decorations but it works Spy me watching Supernatural in the second picture, hehe.

Fake tree, with pet-proof ornaments, lights are parts of the tree, and then since our house is being worked on we started putting random construction stuff on the tree with the ornaments. At this point there were latex gloves, an outlet cover, and a paint mask. By the time we got to Christmas there was a flyswatter, all of our roommate's work award ribbons, and empty beer bottles under the tree instead of presents (didn't want the cats to get into the presents). It was so trashy, but it made us laugh every time we walked past it.

Oh, and yes that is a new fridge in the background. It's been in our dining room since August-we finally put it in this week.
