I can't do plants, cuz we don't get a lot of light.. our place is like those houses in San Fran.. long and skinny.. one window at the front, a smaller vertical one near the middle that gives us no light from the alley, and the back sliding door. That's about it.

Don't forget about a really deep green, too. I think a dusky clay would be great for a bath.

How do you feel about yellow for the bathroom? Does it have a window? I myself am painting mine next weekend yellow.

My daughter is painting her room "Watermelon". It is a really striking pink color.

If I lived close to you, I would help you a paint. I love it.

I just painted my daughter's (12) room and it turned out so pretty. I painted each wall a different color, they're all pastels...lavendar, pink, robin's egg blue, and pale yellow....the woodwork is all wide, I painted it all gloss white.
I'm going to make her a canopy bed, get a vanity table, etc.
    It looks good.

I'm now debating colors for my bedroom.....

All good ideas. My only comment would be to try and keep some kind of continuity throughout the house by picking colours that tone and compliment each other. As a general rule of thumb I try to think Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. A lot depends on the aspect of your house. North facing needs 'warm' colours (Autumn) and South facing needs 'cool' colours (Winter). If you go for a completely different look in each room it all ends up looking like a dog's dinner of clashing themes and tones and there's absolutely no 'flow'. Don't forget your floors either! I personally think the colour on the floor is the most important influence on the whole room.

Your house sounds similar to a rental property I know that basically has 'shades of mushroom' thoughout from the palest off-white/grey to a deep charcoal blue/grey. It has hints of lilac and dusky blue too and it looks fabulous; each room has it's own 'personality' yet it all tones beautifully. No wallpaper (it's really not very popular here in Oz for some reason) - just really well chosen paint colours.

Thanks for all the ideas everyone. I still haven't decided what I want to do but everyone has given me good hints.

Green for the bathrooms with cream tiles. Off white for the grey/brown.

Just one other idea - if you are redecorating the bathroom then think about perhaps tiling the whole thing floor to ceiling? It's a good selling point, looks very smart, it won't need touching up and is much easier to keep clean and sparkling. You can get some amazing tiles these days in all kinds of colours and finishes.
