She appeals to my neatfreak tendencies but I really wish she'd lighten up a bit. She has NO sense of humour whatsoever.

Guilty of drinking the Martha Stewart kool-aid. I like her show, but preferred it when she was still shooting it out of her home, annoying the hell out of the neighbors and pretending she did all the work. It was much more food/garden oriented then. Now it's lots of arts and crafts which are fun to watch but I won't make 99% of them because they are too expensive or time consuming. Her interviewing skills are crap. It cracks me up how she just cannot feign interest over most of the guests (although she adores all of the chefs).

Wrong! She does have a sense of humor & laughs with many of her guests. She can appreciate it-she just lacks wit. She is not naturally witty and she can't fake it. She does try-just not part of her personality. She gets very amused if guests screw up things. Her sense of style makes up for a lot. I love her organizational skills, too. She can also give everyone confidence to tackle great projects.

I like her. I haven't actually caught her show in years, but I love her mags, especially Martha Stewart Weddings! I love her cakes and cupcakes.

Canadian Tire used to carry her paint colours, but they seem to have stopped - which stinks, because she had some fantastic colours that never missed, including my most favouritist warm white ever.

    Another fan here.

I painted the walls of my first house "Seagrass", a beautiful green out of her collection.

I always look forward to making her Halloween decorations from her magazine.

Sometimes when I'm home alone and cooking, I like to talk like her.

I made her hi-hat cupcakes once. It was my first time working with a meringue and it ended up very gritty from the sugar. Otherwise, they were really good. Tasted just like a hostess cupcake.

I also made her Mexican chocolate pudding filled cupcakes. Except, I made chocolate cupcakes instead of the white cupcake and filled it with the Mexican chocolate. I also added a little cayenne pepper and cinnamon to the chocolate buttercream frosting.

I love to see the order and beauty she spins around herself.

There's a super-mean biography of her called "Just Desserts" that's simply delightful!

Thanks. I'd like to say that the pics are mine but I stole them straight off her website.

PS Sherbear, you are not alone. When I'm cooking by myself, I will announce what I'm doing like I'm hosting a cooking show ("Put 2 Tbsp of butter in the skillet. Now sautee 1 tsp garlic. Be careful not to burn it.") I have my crazy moments.

Martha used to make me laugh when she'd be SO mean to her guests on the cable channel. A little jail and a network show has made Martha finally laugh with others and herself.
She got so OCD freaked out with one of my favorite French cooks, Madeleine, because she spilled the egg as she swirled and flipped a classic french omelet.

When she'd cook with her Mom on the old show, wow, those two were icy. I remember thinking so that's where it comes from. She's always funny with Dave Letterman who I think has a crush on her. My Dad has had a crush on her since she started.

I'm not a Martha "fan", but I do love the styling and some recipes. She, (staff, whomever) really come up with great stuff. When I set a table, I always take a look at her site and then make it my own.

The Bird cupcakes? The Dirt Cake? Genius.

I made this but I added my own idea. It's so ridiculously easy and looks so good.

Bought boxwood, added uncooked cranberries and kumquats to the nut mixture and used a cranberry colored candle and did four down the table.
