    ^^
yeah, i'd have to try it out to see how comfy it is. that's also why i'd put it in the office/spare bedroom - it would be used to lie down and read on, and as a guest bed. kind of like a modern take on a day bed i guess. plus, i adore the colour, and the place i just got happens to have grey walls and it would look fucking fabulous.

don't think so, but you'd spend the same money renting a truck to get it. If you have a friend with a pickup, use them

hmm ok, the legs are available...so i might pick those up...

the table top is veneered wood, so i might as well go to a lumbar yard and make my own table top? that way i can choose the length too

In keeping with what everyone has said, keep on streamlining the room. Purge, remove all unwanted elements, look at the space, then add. Negative space has a lot of impact.

A few suggestions....careful of computer/printer wires hanging down on a work table. It ruins the whole look. Maybe set up an area away from the worktable to have file drawers/printer etc. OR - you can get a wall mounted surge protector and mount at the table height on the wall.

If you want sketches, rolled up artwork in that corner, look for an old stone urn and stick them in there. Mixing modern with a classical urn or pieces gives it an artists space feeling.

Draping a table with a piece of fabric can give you concealed storage space under the table. That's about as Do it Yourself as I get because I hate make shift looking things.

You need some cool looking comfortable seating. That Queen West sounds like a funky market place. Cantilevered chairs are great.

    Look here for ideas

Design Within Reach: The Best in Modern Design

Small floor lighting cans used for uplighting plants are cheap and can be hidden.

Pendant lights over the work table looks good, on dimmers.

A shoji screen if you want to create a smaller area?

Remember to mix materials.....fabrics, lucite, metal, wood.

I went to EQ3, the table legs were stainless steel and really shiny..didn't like it..will try to find something online. Also they were like...REALLY expensive.

They're being discontinued so I think all they had left were the shiny ones...bleh. I'll call and see if they can order the brushed steel
