Seriously, this is in England, not the Mojave. Weird.

Totally agree! Houses like this tend to make me feel a bit alienated, though I admit the spaciousness is nice.

I don't understand it either but sometimes it happens. I never noticed it as a kid, but the first place I lived with an old bf, there was the Greasy Wall O' Doom when we moved out. The bedroom was rather subterranean and dark, so not until I'd taken all the drapes down and moved everything did it become apparent. We were both perfectly clean sorts, but we were performing in a lot of stage shows so possibly we went to bed with product in our hair a few times? Maybe it was also just cheap paint, who knows.

Precisely because of that I've always had a headboard since! yuck.

I found in many area of England the most of the apartments are painted with dark color but I like a faint color. Because it reflects a light in a room. I painted my kitchen and bedroom with cream color and it looks superb.

If I came to visit any of our British posters ,like Novice, I would be shocked silly if they lived in this place. I think I jsut like the old Agatha Christie books too much. I want charm, not gleam.

yeah but those would happen anyway, unless you have one of those massive headboards.

Beds without headboards just seem a bit "sleeping on a mattress on the floor in a scuzzy student squat". Plus, walls are hard and cold to rest your head on.
