Oh my gawd, that indoor pool area is fantastic. I would get rid of that 1970's mural. The Lucite chairs would go well in the pool area imo.

the lucite chairs are the only ones that fit the style of the house, the rest of the furniture looks like it was ripped out of a senior citizens' swingers' club. that greenhouse mural is insane.

I hate Palm Springs. There are a few blocks of really nice, surrounded by meth labs.

Oh wow, I love this. Such striking architecture to go with the striking views.

His poor wife suffered through all of his affairs. He'd have 3 mistresses at a time holed up in apartments all over town. He was a sex addict all of his life. Back then, celebrities were protected from bad press and scandals. Today, he'd be busted. What a creep.

Maybe so, but that house is very cool. Perhaps Mrs Hope knew which side her bread was buttered. She wouldn't be the only Hollywood wife who knew The Rules.

My grandma always said, it doesn't matter who he sees outside the home, as long as he pays the mortgage. And this house, I could definitely live by that saying. I love the house (of course, minus the decor).

Well, poop. I had no idea Bob was a cad. Next thing ya know, turns out Burl Ives was a peeping Tom and Donna Reed was a junkie or something.

    Sold!

It took 4 years and went from $50 mil - to the final selling price of ........ $13 mil.

    • Bob Hope's space-age California home has sold for $13million after spending several years on the market
    • The unique UFO style home was custom designed for Hope by renowned Modern architect John Lautner
    • It was first put on the market in 2013 for $50million but price was dropped to $34million nine months later
    • New owner, reported to be investor Ron Burkle - worth $1.54billion, snapped it up at a fraction of that
    • Property has ten bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a swimming pool, pond, tennis court and much more
    • Hope died in 2003 aged 100

The unique UFO style home, which was completed in 1980, was first put on the market in March 2013 for $50 million. But the property proved a tough sell, and the price was dropped to $34 million just nine months later. By December 2014, the asking price had plummeted to half its original listing, at just $25 million.

Same here. That is one cool looking house. But I guess the furniture was modern when it was build.

This place would give me really weird dreams/nightmares, but it would be so awesome to have parties here. I wouldn't change a thing except for the old folks home chairs, etc. I'd even keep the 70s mural. I don't think I could live there on the regular though.
