Damn Brookie! Way to make a girl feel old! I've just been back & checked it out & you're right, its all bloody patterned! I think I need to break out my reading glasses more often! *blush*

In keeping with my advanced age, I've decided I like the grandma wallpaper in the hall. *thinks about changing name to "Grandma Novice"*

It reminds me of the house in Amityville Horror for some reason.

Ouchies! We paid about $1200/year for a city home in Toronto, and about the same for a larger house/larger lot here. My inlaws have 40 acres and pay about $3500, so I do find the posted amount ridiculous.

Why are you thinking of a champion horse?

Redrum is a reference to the Shinning. It's Murder backwards.

I want to like it, but I'm getting an Amityville vibe from it.

I agree that this very Gothic house could use a bit of brightening up to remove the Amityville vibe. The furniture is also horrendously dull and bland. They hired a bad "dresser" to sell this house. (In other words, they were being cheap?)

Those taxes are a hell of a lot higher than mine and I live in the SF metro area, so I'd say yes, those are nasty numbers. I'm shocked, actually. I mean..it's Maine. A lesser-populated state without a lot of big-city blight and BS. They need such high taxes--why? I smell a rat.

    I like the wallpaper too.

I think I'm just allergic to sterile white houses that look like asylums, but folks gave not been using color in their deco for so long they have forgotten how to use it or never had it in the first place...

    ^this!!!!

I like the house, of course I would change some things like any house you buy, but the rest of it is beautiful, and in beautiful shape. Also, I don't find it that creepy, and I actually like the doors.
Gross, put it away. You could dress beautifully but you gotta be Miss Granny Panty Whore.

I like it except for the kids' room. That is empty and cold. It should be full of warm colours, books, hangings, soft materials - to be cosy. Seems they haven't started to think about it at all just put some random things in it. Same for the attic. Great start, what are they gonna do with it?
