JKM I know how you feel. I bought a few perennials but can't plant until after May 15 because of frost and forgot to water them everyday and boy did they scream h e l p.

I just bought these (Snowflake) hanging plants because last year there weren't any left by the time I got to the nursery.

MohandasKGanja, How nice! Do you have any pics for this year? We'd love to see them.

Bijoux, thanks. Can't wait to see your pics - we can all get ideas from each other.

Ok have some updated growth pictures.

This pic is of my rosebush, but on the bottom you can see leaves of Blackeyed Susan growing. I didn't plant them there, the seed must have blown from the other side of the pool which is odd.

This pic is the progress of the peony. It smells so nice and looks like a huge rose.

This is my delphinium that popped out of nowhere. I had another one but I guess after a few years they become skimpy.

This is an Encore Azalea that I bought for my Mom for Mother's Day. It's supposed to bloom all summer so we'll see.

Okay, so I'm waiting for my garden spots to look all green and what not.
I've been digging up (hoe-ing???) a chunk of the yard and I transplanted my corn and cantaloup plants and did a bunch of sunflower seeds... we'll see.
I did a tiny bed off my back porch with squash and green beans and let my son dump poppy and daisy seeds all over the place... Oh, I put my tomato, basil, and cilantro in larger pots and maybe some of them will survive.
    Baby steps for me.

^Do you think if I plant flower seeds now they'll take or is it too late?

I don't think about that stuff... I'm technically retarded regarding such things. Just throw some seeds around and see what happens?

The poppy and daisy seeds my son sprinkled around are sprouting; OMFG, I was so excited I ran and had him come look and he thinks it's just the coolest thing ever. He isnists that we "water the worms"... over the weekend I had him "help" me dig up earthworms and transport them over to the new garden. It was pretty funny.

Remember-those of you in the US South-I always plant new seeds 4th of July weekend. They take over just as some older ones die off. Not too late at all!

Ok so we're nearing end of summer and this is what it looks like now -

The mums are starting to come in and I'll be so sad to see the summer end.

The garden didn't work out for me. I'd like to figure out some plants for now. Ugh... it got pretty sad.
