I say go for it. Life is too precious and short to prevaricate. It's sometimes very cathartic to leave the past behind and make a fresh start. If it will ease the financial pressure too that's got to be good and you can take most of your (potted) garden with you! It sounds like you are ready to start a new phase in your life and if you have an opportunity to do something positive then grab it with both hands. Yay - how excitement.

This particular trailer park I am looking at is well within 1 mile(easy walking distance) of:
    1. a hospital
    2. a mall
    3. 2 large grocery stores
    4. a bowling alley
    5. drive-thru liquor store(right across the street)
    6. large salvation army thrift shops(3 of them)
    7. a post office
    8. a library
    9. a wal-mart
what more could you ask for???

Sounds like it would be a positive thing for you, this move Sojiita. It would ease the financial pressures and let you start anew without bad memories dragging you down. Close to things you need. It's a win-win.

That's the same reason I lived in a trailer for a few years, it was cheaper than maintaining a house and it had a bit more privacy and autonomy than an apartment. The park I lived in was nice, everyone kept up the exteriors and I could even have a rudamentary garden and lots of containered plants. I hope it works as well for you!

I never understood the point of a trailer that wasn't movable. That being said, I've been in one.. a strange experience. Kind of like being in a shitty bungalow that doesn't feel too sturdy.

^^Well then it would be similar to the home I live in now except without the feel of decay!

    ROFL

To be fair, this was a really trashy trailer park, filled with the redneck dregs of the province.. ugh. Cars up on blocks and the whole deal.

I lived in one from ages 1 to 3. Ok, so I don't even remember it, but I know it was my parents first place and they were really young, but that was in the 70's so I guess I am not much help. It was a really small town, no mailman, we had to go to the post office and get our mail out of a little box designated to us. Definitly no gay strip clubs. Although, at age 3, what would I know.

it really is not a bad park. The trailer my friends mother lived in what a little cramped but nice really and it was a 14X70 as well. Better than alot of apartments I have seen. I will probably end up homeless on the street or living in a hut under one of the Scioto River bridges in one of the little homeless towns that have sprung up in the last 25 years. ..fucking Reagan/Bush/Dubya.

My parents lived in a trailer when I was about that age, too. There are a few pics of me playing on the steps. Apparently it got trashed in a cyclone -- but fortunately, we weren't in it at the time!

Is that the trailer park near Toronto where "Hedwig" was filmed?

I live in one. But Canadian "trailer parks" seem to be a lot different from the ones protrayed in the media in the states. Where I am, they aren't tin. You can't "see under them" and you can't move them either. It is, basically, a house with no basement. A nice, new house, that is, with no basement.
