“I knew that we were about to begin a long journey of design and construction,” says Rhonda Cohen when describing the renovation of her home in Greenwich, Connecticut, “But it was still love at first sight.” In contrast to her former neighborhood of encroaching McMansions, “The single level and very horizontal structure seemed to be perfectly connected with the land as if it had been there forever.” She knew that it would take tons of work to turn this place into her dream home but Cohen looked past the house’s flaws and was struck by its shape, scale, proportion, flow of the terrain, and the clincher—an amazing piece of property. “Most importantly,” says Cohen, “I felt a sense of calmness. The serene setting was like a little oasis offering privacy and peacefulness—a hidden gem of a place.” We rewarded the Cohen’s glass house for reinventing an outdated ranch into a chic contemporary space.

Despïte all the glass it still looks pretty dark inside. And yes: I'd like some privacy, too.

i don't mind the windows. from what i read of the story, it sounds like they have a pretty big piece of land so it's probably quite private.

i like the house itself but i'm not crazy about the interior. don't like the living room, the floors are a little too light and it doesn't have a lot of character.
i like the kitchen.
