    Default A modernist temple

With the help of Pulltab Design, a young New York City firm, Anil Shrivastava and Namita Luthra designed the interior of their East Village apartment with details that speak to their shared Indian identity. "We wanted to capture that feeling of being very true to India, but also very modern at the same time," Ms. Luthra said.

It looks very, very clean. I mean in a soothing, not sterile way.

I like it okay, but what does it have to do with India (per the owner's comment)?

Not so bad I guess..especially for 'modern'. But I really think they could have done more with it..the space is almost 'not respected' when the space is so great, but so little is done with it..JMHO. Also too much white(as usual..I mean who the fuck wants an ALL WHITE kitchen..all white? I guess someone who does not have to clean it I guess). These kitchens invariably look either 1. dirty or 2. clean to the point of sterility and blandness. ugh.

I do like the outside of the place, the space itself, and like Grimm said, incorporating the elements inside. Also it is at least not completely sterile overall, there are humanizing elements there. Of course I would love to have it, I would just tweak it some and change the kitchen(some wood would really warm the place up. Light is one thing, warmth or 'soul' is another and too much white just kills it for me. White has to be done perfectly to not look sterile!
Don't slap me, cause I'm not in the mood!

I love it, especially the water aspect.
