Default A historic shop house in Singapore

Marcel Heijnen and his wife, Dawn Mok, bought a rundown shop house in Singapore, the third unit from the left, in late 2001 and have spent the last few years renovating the unit.

Along the front of each row of houses runs what is called a "five-foot way," or covered walkway, sometimes more than five feet wide, formed by the overhang of the upper floors.

A visitor to the house walks directly into the front room, which Mr. Heijnen, a graphic designer, uses as his office.

I think it is very cute and looks like a real home!
