Default A ranch house in La Canada Flintridge

Don and Denise Hahn, in Denise's art studio, set out to remodel their La Canada Flintridge ranch house with the clean lines and vintage styling of the 1940s and '50s, but make no mistake: Though the finished project may invoke a midcentury vibe, it isnít a stuffy period piece. Itís a ranch house remodeled with warmth and restraint, an example of how a home can look beautiful and be filled with fine things but still feel casual, comfortable and free of ostentation ó hallmarks of the classic California ranch.

Lighting fixtures (pendants) in the kitchen are way off. Love the bathroom. I might rethink the wood ceiling. Its quite overwhelming with the lighter walls.

I like it but that hall looks creepy.

Love it. Kitchen is fabulous - it looks very functional as well as attractive. I love all the natural light in every room.

Way too much wood paneling. Otherwise livable, though not all my taste.

I adore everything about it except the wood ceilings. The stone wall in the bathroom is cool, and the kitchen is terrific- I love how it's wide open.

I loved it, except for Anne Hathaway's mug on the big screen.

Love it, except for a few decorating touches, this place is near perfect.

i also think the wood ceiling is too much.
i want to steal a lot of their chairs, especially the cherner in the kitchen and the funky one in the bathroom.

i totally hate the television room though. it doesn't fit in with the rest and it looks like an old lady's house.

I used to hate wood ceilings and walls, but after living in California for a few years, I've seen a lot of them and even lived with them in my own house. I've come to respect it as a regional thing.

That said, I love ranch houses but I think this one is just okay. I really, really dislike the kitchen and the TV room.

I, too, like it apart from the wood ceiling. And the scary shot of Anne Hathaway lol it's kinda random.
I smile because I have no idea what's going on
