Kitchen cabinet drawer handles look convincingly 19th century, but they are actually brass bin pulls that Mr. Schafer bought from Pottery Barn and then treated to give them a patina of age.
The kitchen flooring is made of new Southern yellow pine, and the table was found in Maine.
The furnishings are mostly 19th-century English and American antiques that Mr. Schafer inherited or bought. The back parlor has wall-to-wall seagrass carpeting
