    Default A Craftsman remodel

San Francisco Bay Area remodeling firm Harrell Remodeling specializes in renovating homes with a focus on comfort, beauty, and eco-conscious materials. In the case of this two-story home, the firm considered the needs of the environmentally conscious, active family who lived in it, and developed a low-maintenance expansion on the existing home. Using sustainable materials for this whole house remodel, the remodel focused on supplying the family with what they needed for their easygoing, active lifestyle, including additional storage space and easy maintenance.
Additional changes to the home include a luxurious Japanese Ofuro soaking tub and dry sauna, expanded hallways, Craftsman detailing that reflects the home's original look, and a newly designed master bedroom, master bath, and office.

I like the bathroom, but there is too much dark wood in the rest of the house for my taste.

Nothing of the original detailing is left in the interior. Exterior shade of green is ick.
As Canadian as possible under the circumstances

I don't hate it, but it's like a new suburban house. Soulless.

I like it. Except the exterior.

I dig all the dark wood, but it's pretty sparse for Craftsman.

^^WAY too slick and sleek for a Craftsman. They ruined it, imo.

I liked it except for the bath which looks like a dentist's office.

Seattle is full of decrepit Craftsman houses that everybody is so crazy about.

IMHO they are dark, cramped, and depressing. The interior is chopped up into a lot of small rooms with doors all over the house. Like living in a rabbit warren.

Even with a good remodel they are still dark and old. I wouldn't want one.

That remodel is blasphemy. A Craftsman home is my dream home and that is just awful how they did not retain the historic properties of the house.

I love a great craftsman. Pasadena is loaded with beautiful remodels. We have quite a few here in the Valley.

This one is nice, but it doesn't even look like a craftsman anymore.

I like the remodel, even though it does seem out of place for the type of house.

i agree with those who say that the craftsman charm has been lost. i find it boring & too pottery barn-ish now. what a bummer, because craftsmans are awesome.
