Default From backyard planter to bathroom centerpiece

Homeowner and DIY-er Kim Henson initially used this bathtub as a planter in her yard, since it was missing a leg. However, when a matching clawfoot was located, they decided to move it back inside.

Kim reports that a local refinisher dealt with the enamel, and "[t]he missing leg was replaced by a guy in Chicago who salvages old tubs and found a match by fishing around in his barrels of spare parts."

Hard to believe the same people who would have a bathroom that nice would have a bathtub planter in front of their chainlink fence.

It's all right. I used to have a clawfoot tub, and it was cute but not as comfortable and deep as a modern one, and I am a serious bath soaker, so it was kind of disappointing.

I also like these tubs painted cool colors--since you can paint them, why not?

Better than a back-yard planter, anyway.

I hate clawfoot tubs. It jsut seems like it would be disgusting to have to clean underneith(sp) that thing.

I like that she thought to reuse the tub instead of buying a new one. Gotta save the environment anyway you can!
