Default A 1908 row house in Queens

Over the New Year's holiday last year, Azadeh and Kermit Westergaard composed a detailed description of their dream house. They eventually bought a 1908 row house in Ridgewood, Queens, for $592,000

The couple's plan included a sun-drenched office, high ceilings, wood floors, good views and a front porch with rocking chairs

On the ground floor is the kitchen, which has custom wainscoted cabinets and French doors that open onto a garden

The backyard remains a work in progress, though it contains a mature flowering quince, a birch tree and a lilac bush

I had relatives who lived in Ridgewood years ago and this is exactly what there home looked like! Well, minus the decor.

I can't wait till that little boy is old enough to liven things up with some sharpies & crayons.

Clean, sparse, cold. Crib looks like a baby jail. Lovely kitchen. It's Ridgewood and the only thing that Ridgewood has is a cemetery.

I like the house, but I hate their furnishings. The dad has the biggest forehead I've seen in a while.

His eyes are smack in the middle of his face - shouldn't they be up higher? That's not even a five-head, it's more like a seven or eight-head!

I think it's more of a hairline issue with him. His hair starts half way up his head and stands straight up.

Oh, and too much white. Love the quince though. Maybe mine will look like that someday.
