A radical redesign for a country house
Architect Annabelle Selldorf renovated both the interiors and exterior of a house in Pound Ridge, New York. She added a porch with a standing-seam roof and a dormer to the main entrance.The porch has views of the nature preserve that abuts the property.

Hardly "radical" but I like the open space and light. And I want that dining table and chairs.

see, the dining table, chairs, and chandelier would be the first thing out on the lawn with a "free" sign
then i would chuck the lights in the kitchen, and the one in the bathroom and replace them with something less Home Depot.

I agree. I love the idea of a big long harvest table but I'd want something heavier, more rustic. And the uber-country chairs are not to my taste at all. I would change the lighting as well. LOVE the space though.Originally Posted by Grimmlok

I might add some color(a little too much white for me) and change some of the decor, but overall, the house interior and exterior are VERY nice. I love that open ceiling woodwork above the living room. I would also do alot more with the bathroom..nice as it is, but I would need 'more' than that..too minimalist for me.
Great house overall!!!
*and on a darker note..if you ever got really depressed, with those lovely wooden rafters in that lovely dining/living room, you could stage a very elegant hanging!
I would kill for that bathroom and the backyard. Other than that, it just seems too white.
