Michael Phelps cashes in his winnings

Olympic golden boy Michael Phelps has just paid $1.69 million for a 4,080-square-foot condo overlooking Baltimore's revitalized Harborfront, according to the Maryland Leader. The pad features amenities sure to win over any young Olympian, such as a rooftop terrace with fireplace, a private screening room, a state-of-the-art gym, a clubhouse with pool tables, and a Jacuzzi. He also recently purchased the Meadowbrook Swim Club and Northwest Ice Rink in Baltimore, which he and his coach plan to turn into an elite Olympic training center, and on the car front, he has been looking at "some Aston Martins and some Maseratis."

He bought a nice apartment but I think the rooftop terrace, the pool, the gym, the cinema are for use by all the residents in the complex? Since when do you need 2 treadmills and 3 crosstrainers?

Which is pretty smart-he can use it all & not have to worry about upkeep on it all.

He could certainly have bought a huge house with all of it. This way,he forgoes a lot of headaches. He is pretty much works all the time abyway!

yeah it's a smart move. i've seen some of the newer condoes in toronto down by the waterfront and they are GORGEOUS

Word on the street is that he may have purchased this for his mother and not necessarily for himself. Don't know for sure, just repeating gossip.

Doubt that! His Mom seems to love her house & her school too much. This doesn't look like his Mom at all! Did you all see Chico's have given her a section of mom clothes . Called the "Debbie Phelps Collection" so now she gets her own coins. She was a hoot to watch during the Olympics.

There is a picture-rather LARGE- of a swimming pool. It is not even table shapped! For that amount of money there will almost always be a pool. Look at the pictures again!
