    Thumbs up White-fruited Mulberry tree/bush

I was just looking through a catalog and was reminded of this.

There are several Mulberry trees(Morus Alba) that produce large, WHITE fruit.

    White Fruit:
-does not stain pavement, cars, or human teeth or fingers
-is as delicious as the darker varieties
-does not attract as many birds, since they tend to wait for it to 'ripen' and darken, which it does not do of course-so more for you, and less netting needed.

I saw that there is a variety called "Beautiful Day' that is more of a small tree/large shrub, is hardy to -25 F, and is very productive, along with having the usual toughness of a mulberry.

I love mulberries and they make great pies and preserves. If anyone has fruit trees or is thinking of one, this sounds like a nice choice. Low care and no staining!

    from an online source"

    'Beautiful Day'
The medium to large fruit is pure white in colour, the flesh is sweet, very good for eating fresh and excellent dried. A medium-size, spreading, very productive tree, it requires little care and no spraying.

Sounds delicious. Wish I were a baker or like Diane Keaton in that movie where she inherits her cousins baby and starts her own baby food company.
Into the sunrise. The sunset is sad to me….it only means the night is coming.

I have had mulberry pie and mulberry preserves, and they were incredibly delicious. I wish they were more common and mulberries did not have such a bad rep.(teeth-staining, weed trees, 'hillbilly/white trashish'*, etc.)

*us white trash don' care nun 'bout no teeth-stainin', sinc y'all no we only got one or two of um anyways!
