Default Help the next GR poster decorate

Maybe this will be fun if it can get going.

Post a question about something you'd like to do in your home (paint colors, art, pillows, organizing, whatever) and the next poster gives a solution.

^ no, weird would be organising them monochromatically, or so that the first letter of every band name spelled insults to your dog.

    Smashing Pumpkins
    Tori Amos
    Fiona Apple
    UB40

    Faith No More
    Led Zepplin
    Usher
    Five Pence None the Richer
    Feist

Not at all! I organized my DVD tower in alphabetical order. It kills me when someone switches them.
    ..
Do you think I should buy a nice plant with a nice planter for the corner of our breakfast nook, or should I invest in a fake plant? I can't decide.

Get a Prayer plant (Maranta) and a stand.

Home Decorations - Bookshelves - Benches | HomeDecorators.com has some nice one's or they used to.

The prayer plant is indestructable and easy to care for. They are very attractive.

i'm messy but the virgo/INFP ocd perfectionist in me comes out to play with this type of thing. i keep my cd's organised by alphabetical order and then chronologically (if i have several albums by the same band, i organise them in order by which they came out).

I hate to ask, but am I the only one who color codes cd's?
I didn't start out to collect diamonds, but somehow they just kept piling up.-Mae West

Absolutely not. It means you can find the one you want to listen to quickly.

I also have my DVD's sorted by genre then alphabetical order. Not to mention my spice rack is in alphabetical order. For years I have been tormented about the spice rack, but it makes cooking wuicker as I find things immediately.

    Yes I am anal.

My DVDs (I have over 150) are kept in a notebook in alphabetical order and I also keep a file on my computer in Excel where they are all listed in alphabetical order.

When I purchase new ones, I enter them into the file to make things easier when I add them into the notebook. I know right where they go.

When I want to watch a movie, instead of getting out the notebook and flipping through all of them, I open the file and scan it until I see something I want to watch. Then I simply flip to it in the notebook and put it in! Haha, I'm such a dork...
