Default Phyllis McGuire's Las Vegas home

Phyllis is still around and it's up for sale. She was part of a sister singing group that started in the 1950's. Big hit was "Sincerely", really great harmonies. She had a relationship with mob boss Sam Giancana which she took a lot of flak for. She said to Barbara Walters that she invested in gas and oil, did very well and bought this home. Barbara called it 55,000 sf but all listings show it to be about 25,000 sf. She had a pear shaped diamond that looked just like Elizabeth Taylor's Cartier ring, just a little smaller.

    Phyllis and Same on right.

It's the Arc De Triomphe as you enter.

And the Eiffel Tower of course, it's 44 feet high

Well, I like the moat swimming pool effect and the black dress with the Maltese Cross.

Just awful. The Eiffel Tower-esque structure is memorable.

It's like the entire house was frozen in 1962, then the Vegas fairies arrived to wave their tacky wand over it all.

Horrible from the jump. My mouth was hanging open the whole time I was looking at that tacky mess. Gut job throughout.

Yeah, I wouldn't change a thing. I wouldn't live there, and can't find many positive things to say about it (aside from the original [?] paintings in that one room - I think part of that could be salvaged) but this is a masterpiece that needs never be destroyed. This is what Phyllis imagined to be the height of sophistication and glamour at a point in her life and I find it really fascinating how she or her designer's brain works. I mean, the bottom of the Eiffel Tower as a ceiling. That is amazing and should never happen again all at the same time. It's a cross between a 1960s restaurant, a Montgomery Wards warehouse, a Loehmann's Back Room, and a nightmare. It's kind of beautiful in a terrible way and should open as a museum.

I really want to discuss the sunk-in swan coffee table. I don't know where to begin, though.

I don't mind the coffee shop/hot dog stand and those red and white awnings are making me nostalgic for an old ice cream parlor my parents took me to as a child, but I would literally get vertigo from the kitchen.

That was interesting. She thought highly of herself. It's very much like a museum to herself. The kitchen doesn't support the house. I like the outdoors, that's about it.
