I feel this would have been a popular trend in the 60s and 70s.

It wasn't! For all the awfulness of the '70s with the double-knit polyester, it was never like this, I swear!

My idea would be that people who like those things, had not even entered the computer era yet.

Hideous as well as impractical. How many times a day do you think that would have to be taken on and off? Fuck that shit.

    More like computer granny panties.

my step-grandmother would be into that shit. Back when my grandfather was still alive and we’d visit them, he would complain about her crocheting covers for shit that doesn’t need it, like Kleenex boxes. She even made a crochet and lace toilet paper roll cover for the extra roll of toilet paper in the guest bathroom, and she was obsessed with doilies. He used to joke that he was going to wake up from his nap one day and find himself wrapped in a crochet and lace bubble.

Don't worry. I don't visit her that much, maybe once a year.
She has three layers of shower curtain: one plastic, one fabric and the decorative one.

And yes, crochet everything and a wall full of pictures of catholic saints.

    ^You are evil.

I would love to gift her the washing machine cover actually, but she doesn't own a washing machine because she doesn't believe in them.
