it's only the walls that are white, not the furniture. how is a cream/off white wall more kid/dog friendly than a white one? they both show dirt. and dark coloured walls show nicks more than light ones.

What a great space! I love this.

Does the dog come with it?

I can't speak for kids, but with my dog spending as much time as she can getting muddy in the lake, I'm not sure anything is dog friendly. It's a running joke at my car wash that they'll never, ever get all the dog hair out of my back seat. lol

*sigh* A perfect old Berkeley brown shingle. These are the most exquisitely crafted houses. Look at that floor! And the staircase!

Thing is.....that trim, the window frames, the built-ins, the doors, the ceiling beams and paneling (like that area by the stairwell)...were all made of the most gorgeous wood, often old growth redwood. Frankly, it's a crime to cover that, and lots of people have spent much time and money stripping their houses back down to their original state. It makes me want to scream looking at all that fucking white paint. Kill the "renovator" plz.

FYI the link says the house is on Benvenue Ave, which is only a few blocks long. Random factoid of the day, Patty Hearst's little 2 bedroom apartment--the one she was kidnapped from--was on Benvenue, so doubtless quite close to this house. Associated random factoid, said apartment was in a shitty little early 60s 4-plex, which has now been condo-fied. Patty's "condo" sold recently for something like 700 grand. Now you know.
