Default Former Schoolhouse Converted into Home in New Hope, Pennsylvania

A Former Schoolhouse with the Cottage Blues

Burleigh Cottage was first built in 1826 as a schoolhouse for a small river village in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Now it’s a charming 2-bedroom cottage decorated with blue and white throughout. Take a look…

The interiors were decorated by the husband-wife design team of Bennett and Judie Weinstock, who were named in Architectural Digest’s Top 100 in 2002

The blue and white theme even carries outside to this little shed with the charming blue shutters:

They’re asking $649,000. For more photos and information, check the listing held by Donald Pearson of Kurfiss Sotheby’s Realty.

I love the blue and white shed. The house is a little too bed-and-breakfasty for me to live but it's a nice weekend spot, charming and quaint.

It's a little too blue and too staged for me. New Hope is a great day trip!

Love the bones of the place, but the decor is way too country kitsch for me.

A bit on the kitschy side, but yeah, it would be cool to visit.

the plaid drapes need to DIAF. it is pretty cute, but the decor is awful. after i torched the drapes, the ptichers and white appliances would be the next to go.

it is early and happy hour as already started at chez czb ....

Too many doodads, but I love the overall space.

Agree with you all, too much contrived blue and too many dust magnets. I love the rough painted white walls but not the jarring brown one and also love the wide board floors. Hate the cheap pine dining set.

Same with the ceiling, wall and floor tile in the bathroom. I wouldn't have expected these rooms from the rest of the house. That is a nice shower and I love the bathroom sink.
