Default A Modern "Farmhouse" In Austin, Texas

A Modern Farmhouse For Sale (Picket Fence Included)

    by HOOKEDONHOUSES

Architect Steve Zagorski designed this charming “modern farmhouse” within walking distance of downtown Austin. The listing for Milton House, as it’s called, says, “From its wraparound front porch to the giant old-growth Texas Live Oaks that shade the front and back yards, be prepared to fall in love!” Listing agent Eileen Gill says it harkens back to a simpler time in central Texas when people sat on their porches and chatted with neighbors. The house has 2,750 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths.

wow, I didn't expect the interior to look that good. For some reason, the outside of that house just looks depressing to me. But the inside is bright, love the light in the bathroom. If the kitchen had more light, it'd be great.

I hate all of it except the porch and the trees. It would be better empty and painted all white but I would still need to rip most of it out and start over.

Oh I love this. I'll take it all as is except the heavy timber kitchen table. I love the wainscotting (!) on the interior walls.

Yes, it looks like Wayne decorated part of the house, although I think technically it's shiplap.

Actually I'd call it " tongue and groove cladding " but I was feeling nostalgic. Still love it though but maybe not in an elevator.

The only thing I don't like is the blue paint.

That was my first thought (ie, Fixer Upper) too, down to the shiplap.

Love the house, don't love the decor though.

Shoot, I'd take it just as it is! I live in a "before" house, always will.
