It actually looks great, apart from the cheap hotel room carpet in the bedroom and most of their furniture and shit, but it would be so hot! Brisbane is a humid swamp in the cool season, I'd hate to live in that thing in summer.

I'm not a fan of the kitchen at all, actually. Looks like high school cafeteria/home ec furniture.

Love the wood floors, though. And the pool.

Overall, I like it. Clever recycling idea.

Yep except for the horrid bedroom carpeting, this is a winner. Hope it's got AC.

I like the recycling aspects of container buildings but none of the ones I've seen appear to be very well insulated, if at all, which kinda a defeats their greenie credentials. As faithanne says, that place would be a sauna in summer unless it has some hefty aircon and while Queensland doesn't really have cold winters to worry about I don't think it's really a viable alternative apart from novelty value for the trendoids. Plus the Tracy Island decor and furnishing is horrible.

And I'll agree with y'all about the bedroom carpet - it's patently awful - industrial looking is a good phrase. But I like the headboard of the bed, and the two chairs on the right don't suck. The rest of the house is too mid-century for me. I'm an Art Deco/Art Nouveau queen thru and thru.

I was under the impression that containers were cool in the summer and warm in the winter - no?

Not if they aren't properly insulated. Thin metal walls and roof are totally inefficient in a hot/cold climate.
