Bellevue Hill Penthouse in Australia Offering Striking Views of the Sydney Harbor

Approached by a bachelor who had just acquired a penthouse occupying the entire top floor of a 1940's building, Rolf Ockert Design were faced with a challenge of delivering a serious design makeover. With striking views of the Sydney Harbor, the new crib had to take advantage of its privileged location. A former existing wall of the terrace was hence completely removed and replaced with a glazed extension, ensuring an unobstructed panoramic perspective.

Gawd it looks like some 70s swinging bachelor pad. I don't really like any of it other than the deck. The bedroom looks like a cheap motel (also from the 70s).

The wood paneling and cupboards are probably expensive but look like cheap veneer.

i like it a lot, at least the living room and kitchen areas. though it needs better artwork and books and personal touches. the bedroom is ok but nothing special and i hate the red and blue tiles in the bathrooms, super busy and ugly.

The view looks like it would be lovely at night. Not a fan of anything else.

^Bellevue Hill is a beautiful area and in the right spot you'd have views of the Harbour to the west and Bondi Beach to the east. Which is why so many gazillionaires live there (I lived there for a while but my apartment was on the lower ground floor ie no view).
