Default Fall House in Big Sur, California

Exquisitely Shaped by a Dramatic Landscape: Fall House in Big Sur, California

Set in a rough, yet spectacular landscape, with a neighboring 250-foot drop to the Pacific Ocean, Fall House by Fougeron Architecture is a one-of-a-kind vacation retreat: “The long, thin volume of the house conforms to the natural contours of the land and the geometries of the bluff, deforming its shape and structure in response. In this way, the complex structural system applies natural forms to accommodate the siting. The main bearing system of the house is set back twelve feet from the bluff, both to protect the cliff’s delicate ecosystem and to ensure the structure’s integrity and safety”.

spectacular. the house, the setting, everything is fucking amazing. the only things i would change are the dining chairs and the round weird little armchairs by the grey sofa but the sofa is fabulous and so are the two armchairs in front of the fireplace.

i really, really love this place. *drools*

That bathtub is rather interesting. Love the view and the setting too.

The view is just spectacular. I don't know about living there, but vacationing there would be awesome.

A little more erosion, and this place could literally fall - to the bottom of the hill. Nice though.

Not sure I'd be happy perched right on the edge of a crumbling cliff but those views more than compensate, especially the bedroom. I'd try to soften all those angles in the decor/furniture too.

One big storm away from landing in the ocean, but it's still gorgeous.

    omg this place is amazing.

don't like all the wood paneling in the first interior shot, looks too much like a dentist office. but the rest is great.

A little too close to the ocean and precarious looking for me but I could totally make that work somewhere else. Some of the views look as if you're in the ocean and that freaks me out a little...

You just know this place is gonna end up at the bottom of that hill or cliff in a few years at most.
