    Default Southport Residence

    Southport Residence by BGD Architects

Southport Residence is located in Southport, a seaside town in Merseyside, England, and was designed by BGD Architects. The home has tall ceilings and open spaces, giving the interior an airy quality, fitting in its seaside location.

Ok, I could deal with a bathroom the size of my house. I'd have a helluva lot more towels than that, though. Not sure I'd have the tub that close to the windows!

HATE the lighting, all of it. Looks like a B&B at Ocean City MD. How often will the owners use all that outdoor space in rainy old England?

I love the kitchen. That white island thing with the sink is so pretty. I'm lol at that ladder in the "library".

Are you sure this is Southport England and not Southport Queensland? This looks very tropical and you see that sign with all the East Coast Australian beach names everywhere here.

eta: Google says they're a QLD architect firm so I don't think the article is right.

Wow! I would pick this place for the Bahamas or Florida, not NW UK. They were lucky to take the pics on that year's sunny day. I bet it looks a bit sad and depressing in a cold, damp, dark British winter. I doubt the pool gets much use. But I do like it.

Edit: Just read faithanne's post and agree. Wrong Southport. Do your research article writer Becky.

LOL I was scrolling down thinking "bloody whingeing poms complaining about their weather, this looks amazing!" What do I know, I've never been to England and I hear there are some parts that have nice summers (?) but then I saw the palm trees and thought hang on, those pebbly beaches on TV were never fringed with lush groves of palms.

Yeah, that house is deffo not in the UK. Completely unsuitable for the climate except, perhaps, the south coast but even then it's risky. They do get hot, sunny days in the summer and the myth of daily rain is exactly that, but even so I would never build this type of house there.

This is definitely not a house for shutting down and keeping warm during a long blustery winter.

All the articles I found have the same information. The studio's website only shows the pictures, not info at all about the location.

^Sorry I didn't mean to imply that you'd got it wrong, I know you're just pasting from the source. They're the ones who got it wrong and every other site who's re-posted it hasn't bothered to check the source. It's definitely Queensland.

^It's ok. I didn't took it that way.
I searched for more info because you mentioned the location was wrong but couldn't find anything at all. All sites must have the same press kit.
