Default Contemporary Penthouse in San Francisco

Modern Contemporary Penthouse by Winder Gibson Architects, in San Francisco

Designed by Winder Gibson Architects, this modern contemporary penthouse apartment is located on the Market Street, in San Francisco. The design emphasizes the continuity of space for a loft-like environment. Sliding doors transform the unit into discrete rooms as needed. The material palette reinforces this spatial flow: white concrete floors, touch-latch cabinetry, slip-matched walnut paneling and powder-coated steel counters. Whole-house lighting, audio, video and shade controls are all controllable from an iPhone

It's really not my style at all, but I like this. The views have got to be spectacular!

I would live in it, IF they moved it to Chicago. I love San Francisco, but the whole earthquake thing puts a damper on me wanting to live there.

It's a cool space, but I couldn't imagine anyone really living there. It just doesn't come off as a home...seems like an upscale hotel, but not a place you would want to build a life. Does that make sense? I guess it seems good for a bachelor pad, but not for a family.

All that glass, how would you possibly keep it clean? If it were mine, it would have puppy/kitty nose-prints all over it.

That's exactly how I feel about it. It's an awesome apartment, for a Bond villainess or something.

if you can afford this place, you can also afford people who take care of that for you.

Way too much glass and the wood tones look like cheap vinyl veneer (though I'm sure it isn't.) I can't imagine spending this kind of cash on something that looks like top shelf IKEA.

Yup. A penthouse on the top floor of a high-rise in a quake-prone city. That's exactly where I'd wanna be when the Big One hits. Yessiree.
