Yes, I'm parochial but I love this especially the bathroom with fireplace, the use of timber overall and especially the kitchen island bench top. Which suburb is it? The article doesn't say (off to Google).

If I HAD to, I'd settle for this. Nice.

i love it too, their bathrooms are exceptional, especially the one with the fireplace. i hate their ugly faux-suede living room furniture though.

Is this close to the beach? Perfect beach or desert place with the angled, indirect, light - doesn't get hot but still very bright. I love this.

I mostly love it but hate the wood panelling (apart from the floors), the ugly bathroom tiles and old grandma furniture.

    OK, Google is my friend.

This place is in Brunswick, a solid blue collar suburb about 5km north of the CBD and the bay. Nowhere near the beach I'm afraid. But land prices are cheaper!

Brunswick used to have my favourite restaurant Lentil as Anything where you pay what you like and it was all amazing vego food but it was in a pub so you could still get beer on tap. I do love Melbourne.

We certainly have some great bars and restaurants. Did you ever go to the veggie restaurant Soul Mamma at St Kilda Sea Baths? Full of the great unwashed smelling of patchouli oil but the food was fab. It's gone now.

No but I went to another amazing place in Carlton which I think is still there. Melbourne has great food and bars all over, not just in clusters like Sydney does.
