Pictures: Inside the bizarre Crazy House hotel in Vietnam
- By AOL Travel, Sep 28, 2013
Vietnam's Hang Nga Villa is a hotel with a bizarre shape, no square windows and rooms themed around animals.
Crazy House, as it's known by locals, was constructed in 1990 by architect Dang Viet Nga and is a work in progress that residents have finally grown to love. Getty
It now attracts 90,000 visitors a year, with just 10 rooms available for £40 a night.
Room themes include tiger, bear and kangaroo, and the hotel contains weird wooden sculptures, an odd mix of styles and life-size model animals.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, business manager Thang Viet Nguyen said: "At the beginning most of people did not accept Crazy House because it was too abnormal, odd, and strange. Getty
"Gradually people understand it more, little by little."
On its website, the hotel describes itself as a "Gaudi-meets-Sesame Street theme park" in the shape of a "giant tree house".
