Default Modern Apartment For a Professional Single Lady

Harmonious Design Mix For a Professional Single Lady by Audra Canfield

Ever wondered what defines a professional women in terms of design? We just received an interesting array of photos taken in a modern apartment envisioned by Designer Fluff for a bi-coastal professional who spends half of her time in NYC and the other half in Florida: “She wanted her Manhattan apartment to feel serene yet sophisticated. The design is a blend of art deco and mid-century modern accented with both vintage finds and global art and artifacts from Laurie’s travels.

The kitchen is so tiny! I don't think you can even open the stove door!

It's nice, and spare and uncluttered. I like it.

Except for the tile behind the toilet, I like. That bathroom backsplash (is there such a thing) makes me dizzy and a little nauseous.

I do prefer darker furniture and kitchen cabinets, but what she has here works pretty good.

That bathroom is teensy. I hate feeling crowded in a bathroom for whatever reason. I need to feel like I'm not in an RV.

Again with the spartan white. Can't deal with it. Way too small, too, even for one person. I feel like I'd have to turn sideways to go into every room and hall.

I thought the furry gray pillow was a cat on the bed!

I just like the thread title. I imagine one must wear knee length skirts and pearls to live here. No boys allowed. Doors locked at 9pm sharp.

she has a few nice pieces but for the most part, the furniture is not my style - especially the dining chairs and that light wood cabinet in the first picture, and the light wood vaguely deco thing in the foyer. but i like the space itself and the floors and i love the white walls and i like the bathroom. tiny bathrooms are a fact of life in new york, i like what they've done with this one. i love the tiles and the simplicity.
