    Default Swedish Crib

Swedish Crib Defined by Meticulously Renovated Interiors and Playful Decorations

This fresh apartment in Johanneberg, Gothenburg is an example of Swedish design at its best. Located in a corner house built in the functionalist 1930s, the crib maintains some charming traditional features. The meticulously renovated rooms have several tall windows, high ceilings and solid pieces of marble. Discovered on Alvhem, these tasteful living spaces surprise mostly due to their playful decorations. Some of the highlights are a lavish kitchen in white, a round window next to the home office space and a wallpaper by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen.

I like the wooden floors. That's about it. Way too stark and sterile.

The dining room wallpaper just gave me hallucinations. Burn it.

Sadly, I now equate all Swedish decor with IKEA.

i like a lot of it. the wallpaper, though cute, is too headache inducing for an entire room. i could see it maybe on a small panel, or inside a cabinet, or on one wall in a tiny powder room or something. but not the whole thing. also, i'm all for white walls but i don't like an excess of white furniture and they've got too much of it and i'm also not a huge fan of the whole black & white theme they seem to have going on. they need some tables and chairs that aren't painted white, or yellow.
i like the wallpaper in the foyer.

I love the kitchen because it's pretty typical, I guess. Too much visual dissonance in that wall paper, but there are some cool details otherwise.

Yet another generic Swedish interior. Very predictable and samey. If you want white walls, fine, but does it have to be SO white and so much of it? There are dozens of softer shades. I like the herringbone parquet floor.

Our house has predominantly white walls, too. The difference is that we did not go for the sterile hospital white like in this place. Blinding.

White walls means white walls. The 'softer' shades usually look like different shades of dirty teeth. Off-white ≠ white.
You can't say you like white walls except when they're actually white.

Depends which teeth you mean. Hollywood glow in the dark or British yellow.

I love the white walls and parquetry floors but I'm not a fan of the migraine wallpaper or most of the furniture.

I always like true white walls to visit but not to live with, so to speak. I think they look so light and great and fresh when they have lots of natural light shining in (especially via skylights), but on dimmer days or evenings or in the middle of winter, they just leave me a little cold. That said, I detest beige and peach or anything too warm or muddy, so when I go with white for my own spaces it's a tricky balance to find a really "fresh cream," as I think of it. Not too stark but not too antique looking either - like the colour of milk or flour, maybe.

individually, some of the stuff is great... but when they throw it all in together, it's just a big jumble of crap... and that dining WALL! WTF were they thinking?
