    Make a Snake Wreath

    30 SEPTEMBER 2011
    by heather

I'm into plastic snakes this Halloween, so apologies to the snake-o-phobic (anyone know the real term?). This creepy wreath originated with Martha Stewart, but Amber at The McIllece Spot made a snake wreath turned out exactly like Martha's, so she gets a gold star and a craft award. That's not easy! A grapevine wreath is the perfect snakey background for a wreath covered with plastic creepers. Find your wreath and snakes at the dollar store. [how to make a snake wreath]
    Project Estimate:

    • Grapevine wreath, $1
    • Plastic snakes, a few packages, $5 and up
    • Floral wire, on hand or $1
    • Wire cutters, on hand or $1
    • Spray paint or black acrylic paint, on hand or $1 and up

    Total: $6 and up

I am not a snake-y person, but this is pretty cool and looks fairly easy too. Not ready to think about Halloween yet though...

Ooooo, creepy! My only foray into making wreaths was last year. I made a candy corn wreath with the leftover candy. Might try this one this year. Kids are older and ready to move up to less cutesy and more creepy stuff. They know I'm terrified of snakes, so this will make them giddy...

Spooky Skeleton Halloween Wreath - snap the conference

Looks like cheap little foam skulls were cut in half and glued to a wreath. But I bet you could take a circular wire and thread them on that.

thanks! i might try it with these skulls (Black Glitter Skull) or these (http://www.spirithalloween.com/produ...C:foam%20skull) if i can't find anything locally.

ETA: yeah, i love glitter so i'd probably do that but there are purple glitter skulls at the first link as well. i would do black glitter and then add color with ribbon like you said.

Actually, I think that would look even better! With purple ribbon.
