Default Restored Victorian Sausalito Houseboat with Incredible Decks and Views

I'd snap this up in a heartbeat and I don't even like water. Being on it, anyway. Or in it, lol. That first pic, I believe that's Angel Island beyond the marina. The houseboat's situated on Richardson Bay, a little inlet on the inner/Bay coastline of Marin County. Across the water on the peninsula are Tiburon and Belvedere. All this boat needs is a hot tub! and some weed, okay.

Address: 25 South 40 Pier Dock, Sausalito.
    Asking price: $1.55 million.
Description: Once owned by San Francisco Chronicle cartoonist Phil Frank, this houseboat dates to the 19th century and was restored after being found in a Corte Madera creek. Renowned architect Sim Van der Ryn installed bamboo floors and new interior siding when he renovated the houseboat in 1998, while retaining the exterior siding and detailing from its original construction. A concrete hull enabled the addition of a sitting room and master suite downstairs, while the upper level features public rooms and stained-glass windows in the kitchen. The houseboat includes decks at the front and back, as well as a floating dock for launching kayaks and other watercraft.
Don't miss: The detailing on the exterior siding boards dates back to the late 1800s. The harbor and marina can be seen from throughout the houseboat.
    Built: 1892, restored in 1984 and 1998.
    Size: 2,000 square feet.

In addition to the public rooms, the main level of the houseboat also features two bedrooms and a bathroom.

We'd have to fight over this one! Love it. Maybe that kneeling goddess doubles as an achor in rough weather?

I dig it a lot, but some of their furnishings have to go.

This. Not a houseboat person, but this one could sway me if I could bring my own furniture.

This isn't really a boat, is it? It's more a house that sits on water but doesn't have an engine or moves anywhere. It doesn't matter, because it's really cool.

The furniture is an abomination but I'll take it and redecorate.

Yum, I love it. Imagine now lovely it would be to have the constant sounds of being on the water, super relaxing. Le sigh.

I love it but I wouldn't want a houseboat that's permanently moored, I'd want to be able to move whenever I felt like it. And yes the furnishings would have to go.

So nicely done. Toss the furniture especially the dining room chairs. I think the furniture is Ikea. I'll take the Buddha and put in my home in the Maldives.
