Default NYC Penthouse That Just Hit The Market For $125 Million

((I'm wondering why there is a motorcycle parked in here??)

We learned that the penthouse of New York City's Pierre Hotel was hitting the market for a record $125 million last week, and the official listing has finally surfaced with some photos of the space. The apartment, which belonged to late investor Martin Zweig, encompasses three floors and was originally the hotel's ballroom.

Commenters over on Curbed NY have pointed out that the apartment's history as a massive ballroom means its an awkward living space today; that doesn't mean it's not pretty to look at.

The 16-room spread is listed with Sotheby's International Realty.

Too foo-foo for me. None of this is my style at all. I do love the views though.

This place doesn't say NYC. It could be a high priced place in Houston or Dubai. It lacks any real character. I feel it needs some big graffiti.

Yeah, I think I see some skid marks on the wood floors.

It somehow seems sad to me that it isn't a ballroom anymore. The world needs MOAR ballrooms, not less!

Gag me. I don't want to live in something that looks like a hotel lobby.

^^ Yeah, it feels really impersonal. I hate every bit of the decor, too. I do like that the ceilings are so high the recessed lighting looks like stars.

Reminds me of that Peter Gabriel song, "Big Time".

This is just so cold, pretentious, and wayyyy too BIIIIG.

Nice view, though. I'd just sit out there all day, looking at New York City...getting attacks of vertigo...barfing. Ah, maybe not.

I do love the Pierre building, so old school beautiful.

Hideous. So much clutter. And the guitars on the wall scream "I'm hip and edgy!" but the old lady furniture tells a different story.

What a goegeous space, and what a hideous decor. But I suppose this grandma-won-the-lottery style will appeal to the very rich who can afford a place like this (russian oligarchs, arabian oil magnat).
