Default 420-square-foot Swiss Army Apartment in Soho (6 rooms in one)

Kind of like the ultimate in pull-down and pull-out features. the main area is a bedroom/guest room/entertainment room/extended kitchen/work area/dining room.

I did love the party guests. "A second bedroom. Hahaha. A curtain. Hahaha." If you're trying to get people to sound like they're impressed with your space-saving apartment, ply them with liquor first I guess. Especially the blonde in khaki. Seriously though, there are a lot of cool ideas, but it still seems to me the only people that need these space-saving features can't afford to live in a place like this. I did catch the part about this being an expensive prototype though, so maybe it will one day be more the norm. Some of it is cool, though it's way too white and stark for me, and some of it had me LOL'ing (the kitchen - people only need 3 burners? And the cooking utensils are certainly cute I guess...)

That was fabulous. I agree too white but love the idea of using every inch and no knicknacks!!

This guy is very clever. He took many ideas from RVs and added his own.

If I had to unpack my stove, I'd never cook.

some cool ideas for small spaces though.

He's obsessed about space but he wastes an entire drawer for a dishwasher? You know some people don't have one (ok, I'm "some people" here :p) and fortunately they've got hands to wash their dirty dishes.
It's more important to have an extra fridge-drawer :p
(god with a fridge that small, you've got to buy your food everyday, you can't store anything in that ! And beer's not food :p )
I completely agree about the stove, it appears as a pain in the ass to unpack it everytime you need to cook ... which is everyday basically.
I completely love most of his ideas, I'd love this to be affordable because it's really cool.

It's quite innovative, but I'll take the "real" space I have in my house.

it's really cool. and i think a lot of those ideas can be integrated into normal apartments but you wouldn't necessarily have the whole thing done according to this prototype. i was down with pretty much everything except the kitchen. i need a real stove and a real oven, and slightly more counter space. you can tell that cooking isn't a real priority for these particular designers but i'm sure that with a little bit more space they could make an awesome, space and energy saving kitchen that would be suitable for foodies too.
