Loathe the furniture and architecture of this period. Split level homes, and 60s ranchers make me cringe. LOL

The furniture from that era manages to be both stark and tacky at the same time.

Hey, where the hell were you when I used a sledgehammer to break apart my mom's old 60's-era blue sofa, so that I could fit the pieces in a dumpster? I could have used a 60s-hating hand!

My mother has never changed her bedroom furniture from the 1960s - and she bought it USED!! My dad got it on layaway right before we moved into our house. She's gotten 3-4 new beds, but has the same dresser-drawer set. It looks like George Jetson furniture. But she's so sentimental about it - it was one of the first things my dad got for her for the house.

It reminds me of plastic slipcovers and standing in the corner with a sore behind from getting a whipping.

LOVE it!! But anytime I see furniture from that era, I can smell the cigarette smoke that's imbedded in it. LOL!

Something exactly like this sits in my grandparents' basement. It is ugly and I never see anything like it anywhere, but when I saw it just now I liked it cause it reminded me of my grandparents. Like msdeb said, if not for my grandparents having it, I'd have no affection for it.
