Default A glass house in Dublin

Ella Flynn’s living room is flanked by gardens that extend from her modern mews home to the Georgian row house on the property. James Doyle of Doyle Herman Design, in Greenwich, Conn., an Irish expat, did the landscaping.

There is something cold here, not Irish at all.

Ireland should be full of cozy. Stabby angles and Irish don't go together.

It looks like a cancer treatment center.

There is absolutely NOTHING personal in this house. No trikets, nothing. I'm not a big one for knick-knacks, but I have stuff to make my house look like a home. This is sterile and nothing like anything I've seen in Dublin before.

LOL, Thank you! I wonder this myself all the time. I like walls and doors and windows with drapery. Even fish in aquariums try to hide in their little mini castles and pirate ships. They don't like living in an aquarium all the time either.

Dublin is a mix of trendy, modern design and architecture and then they also have the stuff I like which is the Georgian homes, the stone cottages, all the older looking houses with warmth and a different kind of character. It does look like a Cancer Treatment Center here. What makes it sadder is that if I lived there, I would just see the outside of all the houses I'd rather live in. That's no fun.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: What do people have against privacy???
