    Default Floating Farmhouse

A self-taught designer embarks upon a solo mission to resuscitate a 19th-century homestead.

The Floating Farmhouse’s semitransparent addition has a roofline that matches the pitch of the original 1820s farmhouse. A porch, tucked under the side eaves, is cantilevered over a stream that runs through the property. Ikea loungers are illuminated from the interior by commercial gymnasium lights repurposed as pendant lamps.

I HATE that bathtub. It looks like one of those hydrotherapy tubs from the old timey insane asylums.I hate the kitchen flooring. It reminds me of the floor that is in my mechanics garage.

I hate what they did to the house. The house is almost 200 years old, and it looks like they took all of the heart and soul out of it.

i want this. i'd change the tub but other than that i like the simplicity and clean lines and the mix of rustic and modern. the fireplace is to die for.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm a curtains/blinds slut through and through. No way I live in a house without them!

I like it but couldn't live there. It reminds me of "FunnyGames" and being killed one night as kraftwerk played.

I like the home itself, but the decor is boring. That bathroom reminds me of my father's dairy barn.

That looks like a wee bit more than a stream. Hope they like mucking out flood waters. I could like it, but then again I'd be a really good hermit, I'm sure I have a manifesto or 3 that the world needs to hear.
