That's luxury? Aside from the large amount of space (for a condo) and the fridge it looks pretty bargain basement in terms of fittings.
Le Grenier was built a few years back, replacing an old apartment building and awesome Chinese restaurant that had been destroyed by fire. Here is one of the units...these units start in the high 3s...there is something so sterile and dormlike about them, can't put my finger on it, not an architect, but this is the new Center City like it or not - cheap-looking building with overpriced units.

I am from the American CIA and I have a radio in my head. I am going to kill you.
Agree with Grimm. Aside from the fridge, this looks like a 1990s budget apartment. Nothing "luxurious" about it.

This looks really out-of-place for Center City in Philly. I'd expect something like this in Atlanta or Dallas.
Looks like a hotel room, especially the bathroom.
I don't claim to know anything about city living, but this seems plain.
And the building it replaced was very handsome - it dated back to the mid 1850's - irreplaceable.
Looks exactly like the "luxury" condos, built in 10 minutes, in downtown Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa, Cary...
Same layout, different locations, I wouldn't buy one since they will only lose value in the long run with costs of heavy condo projects to repair shoddy work.

I'm just saying this complex could easily be plopped down in Oak Lawn or Uptown out your way or in Midtown or Buckhead in my city and it wouldn't look out of place at all (newer sunbelt cities in the South and all), but in an older city Philadelphia, it's just...wrong. And if a building from the 1850's was torn down for this, a travesty.
The old building was damaged by fire apparently
you & me both!
I really like the big windows letting in all the light (and would decorate it in a much less residential-home-for-the-over-50s way), but its all overlooked, so what you gain on light you lose on privacy...
The kitchen cupboards look like plywood & mdf and the bathroom? It's so small that they had to put the toilet under a shelf instead of having a cupboard?
I understand the beige, but it still likes like an old people's home.
Curtains and/or blinds would not be cheap in this unit either...
I think it is pressed wood and the countertops are not even granite!!!The kitchen cupboards look like plywood & mdf and the bathroom? It's so small that they had to put the toilet under a shelf instead of having a cupboard?
OMG Novice, I was walking home from the gym and near Penn Hospital, there is a senior care center that closely resembles this buildingI understand the beige, but it still likes like an old people's home.. The same company had to have built them both.
I think the unit has potential, but the kitchen cabinets and countertops are stank.
