Default In a Finnish Forest, a House Blends In

Goeril Saetre for The New York Times
The living area of Petteri Knudsenís small house on a lake in Finland is furnished simply, with a custom-made sofa by the Finnish designer Harri Koskinen ($2,750); a table made out of an old door, by Ville Hara, Dr. Knudsenís ex-boyfriend and one of the architects who designed the house; and a moosehide rug

Ugh, that's a bit cold and sparse. It looks unfinished too, because there's no skirting - the wall just sort of end 2-5 mm above the floor. Looks odd because the lover edge of the walls aren't even.

Nothing on the walls? Not even a clock? I hate a lot of wall clutter, but a couple of paintings would be nice.

I actually like it a lot aside from the dead thing on the floor.

Love the big picture windows, the view & the stove; the rest I'd (re)decorate & furnish...

Those sofa's are NOT comfortable. No back support. Barely any cushioning. They feel like wood.

Depressing. Imagine having to spend a 6 months winter in there. Ugh.
